Bowral Co-op, a century-old cooperative with a focus on community and agriculture. Project Goal: To modernise the Bowral Co-op's online presence, reflecting its new vision under a new CEO. The aim is to create a website that encapsulates this modern approach and caters to the evolving needs of the Southern Highlands region, in the face of new competition.

The original website was outdated, not offering much in terms of user experience or modern design, and did not reflect the Co-op's evolving role in the community.

Approach

Our approach began with a thorough analysis of Bowral Co-op's needs and the expectations of its varied audience. This included:

  • Detailed discussions with the Co-op to understand their vision and the community's ethos.
  • Market research, especially focusing on competitors and best practices in similar sectors.
  • Development of a content structure that aligns with the Co-op's phase-wise growth, starting with a focus on community engagement, leading to e-commerce capabilities.
  • Ensuring the design reflects the new brand identity being developed by our branding agency partner, with a focus on warm, community-centric imagery.

Execution

The execution phase involved:

  • Creating a clean, simple, yet unique website design, drawing inspiration from competitors but tailored to Bowral Co-op's unique positioning.
  • Implementing an easy-to-navigate structure, accommodating the diverse technology comfort levels of the Co-op's audience.
  • Integrating Australian-specific imagery that resonates with the local community, farming land, and animals, reflective of the Southern Highlands region.
  • Ensuring the site is scalable for phase 2 of the project, focusing on e-commerce.
