Twitter is a very unique platform which is basically a global conversation where people share their thoughts within a 140 character word limit. Twitter consumers are three times more likely to impact a brand’s online reputation through syndicated tweets, blog posts, articles and product reviews than the average consumer, according to a study conducted by email marketing firm Exact Target. Another study by Performics and ROI Research found that:

  • 33% of Twitter users share opinions about companies or products at least once per week.
  • 32% make recommendations
  • 30% seek guidance and direction

Recent changes can be seen with Twitter’s new search engine. According to Twitter, it will enable the ability to index more Tweets per second, while using less Twitter system resources, which is an important improvement in less fail whale pages.
