Responsive web design is an approach to web design aimed at building sites to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computers, to mobile phones to tablet devices).

Responsive web design is becoming more important as the amount of mobile traffic now accounts for more than half of total internet traffic. This trend is so prevalent that Google has begun to boost the ratings of sites that are mobile friendly if the search was made from a mobile device. This can lead to sites being penalised for not being mobile friendly.

Different web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari have a different way of displaying websites. Cross Browser Testing is required to make sure your website displays the
same in different browsers.

If you have any flash animation on your site we will replace this with a static image, as devices such as iPhone and iPad cannot display flash. Outside of that, and unless otherwise specificed, the view of your website will contain all the same information such as menu, text and images as on your current website. Different smartphones display a page slightly differently, and this quote does not include customizing the site to display differently on each smartphone.

The included quote does not cover getting all elements exactly the same on all smartphones. To do so would incur significant additional cost due to the variances between so many phones and relatedwith the phone providers technology and features in this area changing so quickly.

When testing the front end of a new website, we test on all major:

• desktop browsers
• mobile browsers
• tablet browsers

Testing is performed on both PC and Mac, iOS and Android phones and tablets.

We no longer include Internet Explorer 8 and below in our testing. It is also important to be aware that IE 9 may not function with all modern web technologies. This is purely a limitation of IE 9, and not our development skills. To view browser usage visit this link.

Where relevant, testing includes:

• Making sure the site displays properly and the same on all these devices
• Making sure everything functions properly on all these devices. E.g. Forms submit, galleries controls work, such features as pagination (Previous, 1,2,3 Next) work correctly.
• A product can be purchased using all used payment platforms.
• Features such as password reset or sign-up work correctly.

Not covered

• Testing is limited to the site it is for, and does not include any 3rd party sites or platforms you may link the site to.
• If a new browser or operating system has been released in 'beta', we do not cover testing for these, as during beta there are still often many bugs or changes yet to be made.
• We also do not guarantee everything will work perfectly in a brand new release of a Microsoft Browser even when out of Beta. Microsoft are notorious for having bugs and problems with their browser technology, which takes them time to iron out.
• We do not guarantee the website will be working perfectly on:

1. minority browsers or
2. browsers with custom settings or
3. third-party plugins that may affect certain website functions

Once the site exceeds the Server or Bandwidth space the site will still continue to operate, however excess usage charges come into play:
